She started archery in 2019 and was part of the Atlantis Archery Club in Walvis Bay, Namibia. The deceased shot for Namibia in the Compound Women Open (CWO) category. She was a gold medalist at the 12th\u00a0African Archery Championships in Pretoria, RSA in November 2022. On her Facebook page, close friends, family members, and colleagues mourned a very kind-hearted young lady, a talented archer, and a continuously smiling human soul. Despite her handicap, Katelynn never gave up hope and belief in becoming a champion. She proudly shot for and represented her country, Namibia, in different international competitions and events like the Africa\/Oceania Qualification Tournament for Paris 2024 Paralympic Games that took place in Dubai, UAE in March 2024 when she seeded 2nd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On this sad occasion, WAAf President, Mr. Tarik Amiry, on behalf of all Executive Board members, staff, and the bigger African archery family presents his sincerest condolences to Katelynn\u2019s family, friends, and all those who knew her and were saddened by her loss.
