The Algerian Shooting Federation (FATS) held its general elective assembly on December 31, 2024 at the Algerian NOC headquarters in Ben Aknoon, Algiers. A representative from the Algerian Ministry of Youth and Sports attended the assembly which also saw the attendance of 15 representatives of Wilaya Leagues.
One week earlier, the annual ordinary assembly was held in Algiers and saw the approval of the management and financial reports. Thus, the agenda of the elective assembly included only the election of the president and federal board members. The Nominations Commission shortlisted two candidates for the position of president, namely Mr. Abderrazek Lazreg and Mrs. Leila Ould Kablia. After the vote, Mr. Abderrazek Lazreg was declared president of the Algerian Shooting Federation for the term 2025 – 2028 after getting 23 out of the 32 votes cast.
During a brief speech after his re-election, Mr. Lazreg expressed his gratitude for those who entrusted him with FATS’ chiefship for a second term stressing the fact that he will carry on the work he had begun four years ago, building on the good practices and reinforcing the achievements that have been realized with the former executive board team. He thanked all the members who had worked with him and wished good luck to the newly elected board members who will serve with him till 2028.
