WAAf president, Mr. Tarik Amiry took part in the ANOCA / African Olympic Confederations meeting which took place in Yaoundé, Cameroon from 11 to 14 October. The meeting agenda was focusing mainly on the situation of the coming African Games that will be held in Cairo, Egypt in 2027 and probabilities of qualifying for the Los Angeles Olympic Games 2028.
The meeting saw the creation of the Association of the African Olympic Sports Confederations (CASOL) that will look after the African sports Confederations whose events figure among those of the Summer Olympic Games program and support them in the Cairo African Games 2027 which will be qualifying for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. The basic idea is that all the Olympic sports should be present in the next African Games. This association will also help with the development of the African Olympic confederations, including World Archery Africa, and assist them in order to qualify athletes for the 2028 Olympic Games. The Association of the African Olympic Sports Confederations will be presided by Mr. Hamad KALKABA MALBOUM, CMR and will be based in Cameroon.
It should be noted that archery will be included in the next African Games in Egypt 2027.
