After a relatively long period of inactivity both locally and internationally, the Royal Moroccan Archery Federation held its elective general assembly today under the supervision of the Ministry of National Education and Sports. The assembly was held in Casablanca in presence of representatives of local authorities, a NOC representative, and two judicial delegates appointed by a Casablancan court.
14 out of 20 officially recognized member clubs in the Federation attended the assembly which saw Mr. Mohammed Charif’s list elected for the new Olympic cycle. Immediately after the elective process, a decision was made to renew and activate the Royal Moroccan Archery Federation’s membership in World Archery, World Archery Africa, and the Arab Archery Federation. In a brief word after declaring him president, Mr. Charif thanked all those who contributed to the success of the general assembly and highlighted the fact it was held in total transparency and compliance with the different rules and regulations of the different national, continental, and international entities regulating the sport of archery. He added that one of his immediate priorities is to bring the Royal Moroccan Federation to the rank it deserves both continentally and internationally. Mr. Charif is currently a member of the WAAf Executive Board and occupies the position of Vice-President North.
